AIF Assumes Control of Rochester Territory

April 7, 2014 - American Indoor Football (AIF) News Release

Baltimore Maryland - Mike Benner, Rochester Raiders majority owner and general manager, has informed the AIF he will no longer be able to continue the grueling work of the day to day operations of the Raiders, upon advice from his health care providers. Mr. Benner and John Morris, President of American Indoor Football, have been in discussions for the last several days on what would be best for the team.

Mike Benner discussed many options with the AIF about the Raiders. He is most passionate about the Raiders being able to go forward in their quest for an AIF championship. "A lot of hard work has been put into the team by many individuals" states Mike, "Everyone involved has the common goal of representing the City of Rochester in indoor football." John Morris AIF President states, "Rochester has such a deep history in professional indoor football. The AIF values the Rochester city and their fans. We at the AIF look forward to the strong future in City of Rochester."

With assuming control of the AIF Rochester Territory the AIF states it will not be taking over day to day operations or have a controlling interest in the corporate entity (Roc Raiders Professional Football, LLC) that previously controlled the Rochester Raiders. Any individuals or businesses that have questions regarding any outstanding dealings with the Roc Raiders Professional Football, LLC is asked to contact that company directly, as it is no longer affiliated with the AIF.

Many will ask, what's next for the Rochester Raiders in the upcoming days and weeks. The first priority of the AIF is to take the next couple of days and evaluate the best plan going forward. The AIF is actively looking for new local ownership of the Rochester territory. The AIF Raiders territory will retain the Rochester Raiders name and colors. The Raiders will be playing their next scheduled game against the Cape Fear Heroes in Fayetteville North Carolina on Friday, April 11th.
