Power Returns to Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Aaron Power for the 2010-11 season. The team also announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Sean McMonagle.

Power returns to Las Vegas after spending the previous two seasons with teams in Germany and Italy. Heading into his ninth professional season, Power, 28, spent both the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons with the Wranglers, during which he appeared in 110 games and earned 61 points. Power also made 31 postseason appearances during his time in Las Vegas for 17 points.

The 6-0, 190-pound defenseman scored three goals and added four assists for seven points in 16 games with Fassa HC of Italy in the 2009-10 season. In the 2008-09 season, Power, a native of Cambridge, Ontario, earned 20 points with 10 goals and 10 assists in his 42 games with the Heilbronn Falcons of Germany.

"Aaron is an elite defenseman at our level and a fan favorite who is well deserving of that title because of his commitment to giving 100-percent," said GM/Head Coach Ryan Mougenel. "I am thrilled to get Aaron back into the Wranglers fold."

McMonagle, 22, joins the Wranglers for his first full professional season. The Oakville, Ontario native spent three games on an Amateur Tryout agreement with Las Vegas last season. Previously, the 6-1, 195-pound defenseman was with Brown University, where he appeared in 113 games. In his four seasons with the Bears, McMonagle scored 16 goals and added 25 assists for 41 points.

"Sean is a player I got to know at the conclusion of our regular season and I was instantly impressed with his game and his commitment to getting better," said Mougenel. "He was very sought after in our league and I'm excited to add his vision and ability to our lineup."

The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.

The Wranglers host Opening Night on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at 7:05 pm against Victoria. 2010-11 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
