GREEN BAY, WI - Right wing Cade Borchardt earned his third multipoint game of the season as the Madison Capitols topped the Green Bay Gamblers, 3-2, at Resch Center on Saturday night.

For the game-winning goal, Borchardt picked up a drop pass through the slot from center Michael Mancinelli, and then passed to himself underneath the stick of a Green Bay defenseman. Skating into the crease, Borchardt lifted the puck into the top corner of the net earning his third point of the night at 15:12 of the first period. Left wing Alec Broetzman was also credited with an assist.

Opening up the scoring for Madison, Borchardt stole the puck from a Green Bay player on the right wing boards. Borchardt toe dangled in toward netminder Jake Begley and used his backhand to shove the puck past the goal line for his fourth tally of the season. Leaving Green Bay trailing by two, forward Kamil Sadlocha took his time with a pass from Borchardt from behind the net. Skating on the power play, Sadlocha wristed the puck short side past Begley at just the right moment giving him his ninth goal of the season with 6:06 remaining in the period for a 2-0 lead.

Goaltender Maksim Zhukov took over in net for the Gamblers.

Green Bay netted their first goal of the night at 7:26 of the final frame. Defenseman Carver Watson skated into the zone and one-timed a shot toward goaltender Dryden McKay who stopped the initial shot. The puck slipped free allowing left wing McKade Webster to tip in the rebound. With 2:03 remaining in the game, left wing Trenton Bliss slid the puck over to waiting defenseman Andy Carroll who snapped the puck from the right face-off circle over the shoulder of McKay leaving a final score of 3-2.
