Huntington's new arena

Post by PIONEERSFAN101 » Sat Aug 26, 2006 6:03 am

I've been looking around the Big Sandy Superstore Arena's website but can't find seating capacities for their basketball/hockey setup. Anyone got an idea? This place looks decent, although did the Heroes have problems with their old arena or what?

It seats 9,000.

And Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse looked and felt too old and run-down.

9,000. This is alot of seats. Did the Heroes sell out any games at the Memorial? I thought I read that they had a couple good games with attendance but for the most part was around 1,000 per game towards the end of the season.

As someone who grew up in the area, I know that the configuration for indoor football and hockey is about 5500-5800 depending on who you talk to. I believe there was a crowd of close to 8500 for a WWE show but the seating configuration is different. P.S. That is where the SSAC State wrestling tourney in last week of February.
