League Refreshes Website, Finally, But....

Post by dogman » Fri Aug 25, 2006 11:14 am

There are some noticeable absences.

Where is the information for Tupelo, Tallahassee and Montgomery ?

Is something amuck here ?

Also, there is nothing about Richmond, have they just slipped quietly into the James River ?

Is Fayetteville from the NIFL considering a move to the AIFL ? Is Andrew giving away another franchise ? Is thee dissension in the ranks ?

Whassupppppppppp ?

Richmond has been way too quiet. Anyone here who could check on what's going on there?

I assume the webmaster is still in the process of updating everything. As you can see, they are still using the old AIFL logo in several places. Several teams are missing in the thumbnail icons across the top of the page. However, all the teams (with the exception of Richmond) are listed down the page. Also, if you click on the "Teams" link at the left of the page, all the old teams are still listed as well. I bet it will continue to be updated over the next few days.

I don't know about anyone else. But I just have a gut feeling that the AIFL is going to turn things around this coming season. I hope I'm right.

Turn things around ?

Andrew has done what appears to be a miraculously recovery from the loss of six teams in the south and two in the north, not counting those that folded midway through the season.

He is quite the huckster.

I would give anything to know what Lakeland and Montgomery paid to join the league. Same for Tallahaassee, Tupelo, Danville and Springfield. I would bet my house on the fact the fees were less than those charged a year ago.
Considerably less, just to have someone occupying the space and stop the bleeding.

For the AIFL to succeed, someone else is going to have to take over the check book and make sure bills are paid and on time. That becomes difficult if there is not sufficient revenue flow.

It would appear that he made changes at the owners meeting, perhaps with input from the Montgomery guys, based largely on the model that the WIFL folks were putting together. Prior to that it was a sinking one may show. Unless Andrew swallowed his pride and agreed to let someone else take over the books.

That's too bad. I really enjoyed the games we played vs. Richmond in 2005.

I'm sorry Bandito. You are one of the few true fans out there. I hope you get a new team soon. :(

I wonder if Bandito will change his name...

I'm seriously wondering why the Bandits are done for. They seemed like they were doing all the right things. Were they just that determined not to go back to the AIFL and couldn't find any other options(and I mean sane options, as in not NIFL)?

Me too... Bandito, if you bother with these boards anymore, look me up over at http://www.waynecorumble.com

I'll get you hooked up as an Honorary Rumble fan, if you have any of those Posse T-shirts left...

I think they will get a new team.

But it won't be with the same owners, and most likely NOT AIFL.

af2-Perhaps.
WIFL-Maybe in 2008.
PIFL-You never know...
NIFL-God, I hope not...

We will see...
Proud to be a veteran of these boards for the last 5 years...

What makes you think that, or are you just guessing?
