Playoff Game on a Monday?

Post by Gunsmoke » Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:18 am

What the Hell?
People have to work. If you play football in THIS league and you
don't have a REAL job, you are a COMPLETE LOSER.
In a league where most players should have a full time career that's not in
this bush football league (or at least they should have), why in the
Hell would you have a playoff game on a Monday? Especially on
such short notice! But since following this league for the last two
years, I've come to expect such stupidity.
The game wasn't played because of lack of cash, or willingness to play,
just the fact that they were screwed around with, and scheduled on a
Monday. Well, thank God, I won't have to follow this crap league anymore.

Cincinnati shouldn't have been giving the impression that they were hosting until the last minute. That makes it tough to schedule. It was great that Lakeland stepped forward to try to help out in this situation.

Cincinnati appeared to refuse to man their team in a representative manner for road games all season long. While we can all see the problems with this league, and others for that matter, Cincinnati is responsible for it's own shortcomings.

That's the way it appears to me.

It appears to me that somebody who collects t-shirts from this
so called league and
lives in Nebraska, does not know anything about the situation
in Cincinnati. Don't blame Cincinnati, almost half the games in the league the
last several weeks had to be forfeited on normal playing dates (Saturdays).
A playoff game on a Monday, in a league where
responsible people have normal jobs play, is just plain stupid.

That there has been a leadership problem in this league is a no brainer. There's no question that this league was full of teams that didn't belong playing at this level this year.

Cincinnati appears to be another one of those teams.

While Monday playoff games aren't desireable, they aren't that unusual in any league at this level.

Yawn . . . yep, they are not on the same level as the Capitols.

Cincinnati wasn't prepared to participate in the playoffs. The playoffs come up at the end of each season in every league. Everyone knows that's when you'll find out where and when you play if you qualify. Same thing EVERY year.

You aspire to be at the level of the Capitols?

I guess you get what you wish for.

I'm not sure what else Osceola was supposed to do. They obviously knew about their arena's unavailability and reported it to the league. Why wasn't the Cincinnati arena asked to host until Thursday? Were the Marshals dragging their feet or did the league not pass along the info from Osceola? I'm not sure how a Monday game took Cincinnati by surprise at that point. Osceola was not going to have its pick of dates or arenas by the time it heard back from the Marshals late Thursday. Give Osceola credit for finding an alternative in less than 24 hours. Did Cincinnati expect the league to delay its entire playoff schedule by a week while they found a date that would work? Nobody does that.
