ABA already losing current teams for '08-'09

Post by The Magician » Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:53 pm

First State Fusion have been moved to the 2009-2010 Expansion List
http://www.abalive.com/expansion/

And of course, we know this is where the ABA CEO likes to place deceased teams, or teams that roll over year after year as a promised expansion team,

Then, like clockwork, the ABA CEO likes to mask losses to the league ...

By announcing another team ...

example:

ABA to Return to Charlotte, NC in 2009
07/16/08
//www.oursportscentral.com/service ... id=3682540

 !

Reason: ABA just can't seem to keep teams in the league ... Oh well.

Come on, Magician, we know the ABA is S.S.D.D (Same Shyster Different Day)

He hasn't even removed the Quebec City Kebs fome the "Current Teams" list.

Honored to have been the 13th player for the Vermont Frost Heaves game on 2-16-07 against the Maryland Nighthawks.

The ABA is the basketball equivalent of Amp'd Mobile.

Isn't it funny how Joe works 10 times harder to get a new investor in the door than keeping a quality one happy.

I mean Quebec was/is a perfect example. They felt they were swimming upstream because of a lack of league support, broken promises and missed games. Meanwhile when the called Joe's basement all he did was talk like it was a great thing that he found a new stumble-bum in small town America or Canada.

He can't make that connection between getting them in the door and keeping them there once they've arrived.

"If games are missed, it hurts no one" ...... ABA CEO Joe Newman 2/9/09

Due to numerous threats of legal action from certain people.......all of the above is my opinion only and it should be noted that I have never invested in the ABA. It is simply one mans opinion.

Quebec is off the teams list as of today, as is Orange County and two others....

Do you have any idea what the "two others" might be?

BTW, they've added Oakland as a 2009-10 team.

OC is a real loss. They were one of the relatively few stable teams outside the now-decimated ABA Northeast.

One of the "others" could be the Strong Island Sound. They had been up there all the time even after they had folded last season.

I think Sweeper was right about Strong Island. I have no idea who the other team is. Also, it appears that Bowling Green and Kentucky, listed seperately are probably one and the same. It appears the ABA is at 45 teams.

ABA Scratches ...

Post by The Magician » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:21 am

[XX] First State Fusion
[XX] Knoxville Storm *
[XX] Modesto Sabers **
[XX] Monterrey Veneno
[XX] Orange County Gladiators
[XX] Quebec Kebekwa
[XX] Strong Island Sound

* Renamed Knoxville Thunderbolts, Same ownership

** Renamed Modesto Bearcats, Different ownership

Methinks, it's just the beginning ...

I'm sure there's a good # of teams listed on the ABA Current Teams list, who are not going to participate in the league this upcoming season ...
