AIFA Awards Franchise To Utah For 2008

BALTIMORE, Maryland (December 3, 2007) – The AIFA's Western Expansion continued today, as the American Indoor Football Association awarded a franchise to Utah for the 2008 season. The team will be known as the Utah Saints.

The Saints will play their home games at the famed Utah Olympic Oval, located 25 miles southwest of Salt Lake City in Kearns, Utah. The facility hosted speed skating competition at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and boasted the “fastest ice on Earth.” Ten Olympic or world records were broken there during the Games. The arena's capacity will be increased to 2,500 for AIFA competition.

The ownership group for the franchise is headed by CEO Michael Curran, who has considerable indoor football experience through his involvement with the Utah Indoor Football League.

“We have been working 'round the clock to cross our T's and dot our I's in preparation for joining the AIFA West,” said Curran. “This is an exciting time for us! We have a large pool of talent all around us, mainly in the Utah Division I schools.

“We know the kind of talent that Wyoming (Cavalry, a member of the AIFA West) puts on the field, and we intend to be competitive. The Saints will be composed of men with the greatest integrity, both on and off the field.”

“We are pleased to welcome the Utah Saints ownership group to the AIFA,” said AIFA co-founder John Morris. “They are a great addition to our ongoing Western expansion. We are also very fortunate to have such a unique venue – rich in history and resources – available for the Saints.”

The addition of the Saints bring another significant television market into the AIFA fold. Salt Lake City is the 35th largest television market in the country, with approximately 840,000 television homes
GOOD and ORGANIZED semipro teams can compete with some of the very very poor teams at the indoor football level. Prescott could certainly be one of those, though Wyoming will whitewash them just like last year.

So the Cavs should make great stats against the Utah Saints as they apparently will sign player right out of "HIGH SCHOOL"! Hope this is not true any kid aged 18 would not stand a chance against any 23 to 25 year old man.
But then again during time outs, the team can have orange slices for refreshements. jack
BTW Who's mom is suppposed to bring treats next game? jack

The indoor record is 132. Macieczjak needs to do everything he can to surpass that.

Of course, because saints are well known for their swords and shields.

10x better then it was. The shield should be slightly bigger so it is in porportion to the swords. I like the shading...someone with talent finally worked on this thing.

1000x better then the AZ logo.....which is really awful.

Third logo in just about a month.

Now, the question is, did they come out with a new logo because enough people complained about it (not necissarily a bad thing), or did they slowly come to their senses on their on and had the logo updated two seperate times?

Perhaps a bit of both, but where would people have been complaining about their logo? Because we all know that there is no complaining about anything with regards to the league on the league's message board...
