What's wrong?

Miss. vs. Lakeland (series tied at 1 game apiece)

If you don't let the people with the money know you prefer the NIFL game system, you won't see any stable leagues copying the NIFL game system for your enjoyment!

What's wrong is that Lakland just beat Mississippi by quite a few more points than they had been beaten IN Mississippi, Lakeland is now in 1st in the division (via tiebreaker), and Lakeland's win on Saturday was very impressive against a very good Tallahassee Titans team. That is what's wrong. Flip them, and that would make the Rankings good, though the Titans DID beat Reading this year (but I understand why Reading is ahead of them).

Mississippi is 2-0 against Tallahassee.

Lakeland is 1-1 against Tallahassee.

I wonder if the fictitious team forced Reading to be ranked higher than Tallahassee? We need the fictitious team since Gulf Coast is winless in order to get an equilibrium. Not sure I agree with Reading being ahead of Tallahassee in the Bradley-Terry formula. It makes sense to have Mississippi ahead of Lakeland. Can't comprehend at the moment how Reading is ahead of Tallahassee. The only thing I can think of is maybe Mississippi's loss to Carolina pushed the entire North division upward relative to the South division, thereby making Tallahassee's victory over Reading to be considered light.

At any rate, it's too bad the semifinals aren't criss-crossed so we get the two best teams in the league in the final if the two best teams are in the same division. It would be cool to have an all south AIFA championship game!

Someone was nice enough to email me I had the Carolina/Florence game scored wrong. Carolina was the winner, not Florence. Here's those rankings again with the correct results:
