NFL Network began airing regular-season games in 2006; in 2012 the number increased from 13. The NFL initially feuded with several major cable companies over adding the channel but had gradually expanded its availability. Hell, they were off Comcast for a while too.

NFL Network began airing regular-season games in 2006; in 2012 the number increased from 13. The NFL initially feuded with several major cable companies over adding the channel but had gradually expanded its availability. Hell, they were off Comcast for a while too.

It seems to me the Big Nets are scared of pissing off the NFL - Notice how the NFL has them all involved so no one is left out. Recall the courts DID find that the NFL is operating a monopoly. Having said that the long term deals with the NFL give them wiggle room.
But now the stabliity of the big 4 is being rocked with non-big 4 net TV, and more so internet streaming providers - Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, etc...
The SLAF also mentioned this.
On top of that MORE big 4 tv and dedicated sports TV channels then ever.... they need programming period. And they won't want Amazon getting something over them anyway.
Bottomline, things are happening.

If cable companies like comcast (which owns NBC) have reverse leverage on the NFL ie give us SNF or no NFLN on our systems - if the end the NFL will not get so piss-y on minor ProFB.

There is massive $$$ sitting with investors the wealth accumulation in the USA over the past 8 yrs has been huge. This is chump chg.
The UFL launch a year after the stock crash and in the Midst of the great recession. Its failure was impacted by that timing. But That been over for a few years now, and slow growth is moving at a more rapid pace. Its a much better time.
Potential is there and like I've been saying more attempts will keep coming due to all these factors.

Capital is not revenue. They need both but capital 1st. That comes from investors. Lets see what Don Yee can do. These aren't wannabees, Adam S, Mike Shannan, Don Yee. They have connections.
