NFLN's future is in doubt, especially if Thursday night games are ended. The major reason why Cablevision, BrightHouse and Time Warner (now Spectrum) ended their near decade decision not carry the channel in 2012 was for live NFL games. Not anything else. No live NFL games means that they won't come close to getting the $1.31/subscriber they get now.

And CBSSN, they dont subscribe to Neilsen, so they have no ratings data.

Off the top of my head, July/August 2018 looks like this:
ESPN: MLB, Wimbledon, MLB, MLS, WNBA, US Open Tennis Series, IndyCar and LLWS
FS1/2: Russia World Cup, MLB, MLS, USGA golf, NASCAR (two series), UFC
NBCSN: An option if Comcast wants them.

Other than that, Netflix/Amazon/YouTube are their best hopes.
Interesting angle on NFLN - they still get big cable fees and they have cut some cost why sharing others with NBC and CBS - Are they still in Doubt?
NFL denied TNF games going away. They will likely do a better job with scheduling - but who knows.

I get that the nets are showing something already - they need to fill the time. But would a minor ProFB league serve that better? Its FB.

If there really was money in televising this, ESPN would have fronted it 5 years ago. They won't do it now, of course.

Mind you, they would agree to front more BOWL games. They fund the vast majority of that programming.

You think anyone else has the money?

Television. Runs. Sports. If this was a thing, it would have happened already.

Here's the deal about NFLN fee disputes.

NFL Network began airing regular-season games in 2006; in 2012 the number increased from 13. The NFL initially feuded with several major cable companies over adding the channel but had gradually expanded its availability. Hell, they were off Comcast for a while too.

13th grade/JuCo/****ty football won't give a business in need of revenue a chance at survival...

This business, like the SAFL and others need capital NOW!

Nobody has it now to stop the vacuum which sucks all the $$$ out as MLFB saw.

It seems to me the Big Nets are scared of pissing off the NFL - Notice how the NFL has them all involved so no one is left out. Recall the courts DID find that the NFL is operating a monopoly. Having said that the long term deals with the NFL give them wiggle room.

But now the stabliity of the big 4 is being rocked with non-big 4 net TV, and more so internet streaming providers - Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, etc...
The SLAF also mentioned this.
On top of that MORE big 4 tv and dedicated sports TV channels then ever.... they need programming period. And they won't want Amazon getting something over them anyway.

Bottomline, things are happening.

If cable companies like comcast (which owns NBC) have reverse leverage on the NFL ie give us SNF or no NFLN on our systems - if the end the NFL will not get so piss-y on minor ProFB.

Its SLAF Spring League of American FB

There is massive $$$ sitting with investors the wealth accumulation in the USA over the past 8 yrs has been huge. This is chump chg.

The UFL launch a year after the stock crash and in the Midst of the great recession. Its failure was impacted by that timing. But That been over for a few years now, and slow growth is moving at a more rapid pace. Its a much better time.

Potential is there and like I've been saying more attempts will keep coming due to all these factors.

Bottom line is they need captial. They really, really, really need capital.

Actually listen to Yee and his comments.

He talks more about Millenials and how to reach them. Like Netflix, Amazon.

It's not terrestrial TV or cable TV. They'll get digital coverage at far lower value.

They're looking digital like PROrugby did in 2016.
And that.don't cover real costs.

Capital is not revenue. They need both but capital 1st. That comes from investors. Lets see what Don Yee can do. These aren't wannabees, Adam S, Mike Shannan, Don Yee. They have connections.

There is no way to make money with any alternative football league, the UFL lost tons of money and didn't pay people who they owed money to. I don't get what the obsession is with every league that pops up and wants to to play.

The FXFL was a disaster.
