Two great articles posted today on the league that was and the league that is. Not many differences, or surprises, but entertaining nonetheless.

If anything, I've got to wonder if the scariest part of the story isn't anything that happened with the Frost Heaves or even the specter of Joe Newman, it's D-League Bakersfield being successful as practically a country club catering to bigwigs instead of an arena or even gym catering to fans.

I do quite miss those nights in Barre. A real good article.

Honored to have been the 13th player for the Vermont Frost Heaves game on 2-16-07 against the Maryland Nighthawks.

The ABA is the basketball equivalent of Amp'd Mobile.

I remember when this originally started and some bright boy said, "He's only doing it so he can write about it for SI."

And here we are, 10 years later. WHAT PRESCIENCE!
Old enough to remember when bashing the ABA was fun.

(TL/DR version: It was fun, but everything out of Joe Newman's mouth is a lie.)
