The most surprising thing about That Article is the team in Chicago and the team in Ft Wayne joining in 2013.
I am curious about both teams

The UIFL-champion Commandos, the Marion Blue Racers and the Eastern Kentucky Drillers also joined the CIFL. Other teams are in Louisville, Ky., Port Huron, Mich., Evansville, Ind., Dayton, Ohio and Chicago. A team in Fort Wayne, Ind., will join in 2013.

Well if there is a Chicago and Fort Wayne team, that would mean that there are 11 teams in the league. Interesting to see Fort Wayne throwing themselves back in the rink. I wonder who's heading that team up?
Interesting. Chicago this year and Ft. Wayne next. New Chicago or old Chicago?
Wonder if Bloomington is coming or not.
Geographically, it would make sense for Bloomington to join. Hell, why not add the Chicago Slaughter too?

Canton, Ohio
Huntington, WV
Toledo, Ohio
South Bend, In
Kalamazoo, Mi

Here is a dark horse crazy idea. Feel free to chew it up and spit it out and tell me how wrong I am.
Indiana, PA
-Brand New arena (KCAC on IUP Campus)similar to the EKY Drillers
http://www.iup.edu/kovalchick/default.aspx
-population is twice the size of Pikeville (EKY Dillers)

-Good Football area

Indiana. Pa too small.
The Indiana Univ of Pa (15,400 students) only averaged
2114 fans last yr. Even with the students getting in free
and with a winning season that is not strong support.
I don't think they'll pay $8-10 for an indoor game.
I've been there for BK game. With one end a stage, I
don't think it has enough area to fit an Indoor Football game.
I know if it was my money, it wouldn't go into Indiana, Pa.
I have been in the EKY Drillers arena & the KCAC in Indiana both are the same and the population is the same.
Two cities with the same population aren't promised to draw the same number of fans to similar sporting events. To assume they will is extremely short-sighted on one's behalf.

Also been to the KCAC. I don't think the floor area is large enough to
fit a 200' X 90' playing surface for the Indoor Game.
Even if the lower portion seating recedes back, then the seating loss
lowers the potential for a profit.
Also an outside vendor manages the KCAC and takes all the refreshment
profits.
Here's another bummer. IUP has @ 15,400 students. They get into KCAC
free for Basketball. IUP ave for men's BK was 1091. Even if you ave 5%
of the school population @770 students that leaves 321 locals attending.
And that was the opening year for the KCAC.
Not a lot of local support for the only game in town.
Just can see anyone making money in a town with low sports support
and in what is sure to be a premium rental price for a new arena.
Just doesn't add up for me.
