...added Newman, “... and a Top 24 ranking is an automatic place in the ABA Playoffs.”
Because, as we know, the Top 24 are about the only teams still playing by the time the league staggers to the playoffs.

Sometimes, they're not even around for the playoffs.

Although the Southeast Texas Mavericks are inactive this year -- and perhaps forever -- I rank them as the second best team in the ABA.

Little Rock Lightning, Memphis Bluff City Reign, North East Arkansas Swag,Conway Cyclones all accounted for and going strong in the 20011-2012 season. Helena Delta Storm had to fold. There was a death in the family for the owner so they shut it down for this year. Little Rock has a good organization.

COLORADO KINGS AND SOUTH CAROLINA WARRIORS SHARE #1 IN ABA POWER RANKINGS

Indianapolis, IN. For the first time ever, the ABA has two teams tied for the number one position in the ABA Power Rankings. The South Carolina Warriors have joined the Colorado Kings at the top based on two undefeated seasons. “I know it is unusual to have two number ones,” stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. “But both teams have flawless records through the season and it just seemed the right thing to do. It will be interesting to see if both make it through the playoffs to the Final Four, assuming they win the rest of their games and win the early rounds.” The rankings.

1. Colorado Kings and South Carolina Warriors

3. San Diego Sol

4. Chicago Steam

5. Arizona Scorpions

6. Athens Razors

7. Jacksonville Giants

8. San Francisco Rumble

9. Texas FUEL

10. Carolina Cheetahs

11. Richmond Elite

12. Richmond Rockets

13. Bay Area Matrix

14. Little Rock Lightning

“There are four or five teams that could sell move into the Top 24 with a win or two this week,” added Newman, “and this has definite playoff significance as 32 teams will make the playoffs. Look out for East Bay, Carolina Cougars, Port City Pirates, Fayetteville Flight and Staten Island Vipers among them.”

How can a team sell move?

COLORADO KINGS AND SOUTH CAROLINA WARRIORS STAY ON TOP

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) http://www.abalive.com released its Power Rankings for the week ending February 26th and the Colorado Kings and South Carolina Warriors continued to share the top spot with multiple wins last week. “With only a week to go in the season, it appears that these two teams will emerge as the favorites to win the ABA Championship,” stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. “But here are many other teams that feel they will be the last team standing when the playoffs are completed.”

“We don’t know how strong a schedule the Kings and Warriors have,” stated Ron Hicks, owner of the Chicago Steam, “since we haven’t played them. But from experiences over the past few years, there could be some upsets. I know the West Coast has some very strong teams as does the Southeast. The playoffs will be fun and competitive.”

“With one week remaining in the regular season, there are at least four teams that could break into the Power Rankings with a win over one of the ranked teams,” added Newman. “And the rankings will have significance in the seeding for the playoffs.”
One week to go in the season - so, what is the post-season format? Who hosts, where are the finals, is it a best-of or one-game championship, etc.?

The sad fact is, there is a very good chance that nobody in the Kitchen Cabinet could definitively answer any of the above questions.
