Dont make this a "they left the IFL because it's bad" thread. The plain and simple fact is they dont have the money to compete, above the table or below. They didnt even want to come back and their buyer walked on them, even with the chance to go to a cheaper league. They are 1 and done, the fans in Sioux City wont even give them a look playing the likes Missouri or Junction City. They got 1 more year before it's over. They did the IFL a favor.

The quote speaks for itself. I guess Billings, Corpus Christi, San Angelo, Austin, Western Michigan, Alaska, El Paso, Maryland, Rochester and Abilene were all doing the IFL a favor as well.....just saying

Every situation was different. Billings folding was bad for the league, no putting lipstick on the pig there.
Sioux City has been struggling for years, and for about the past two or three years, the owner kept threatening to fold. While people in Sioux City may not come out for Junction City or Missouri (if you mean the Minutemen, they folded two years ago, if you mean Mid-Missouri, they did well last season), they may come out for the Blackhawks and Koyotes. Sioux City is a lot closer in size to the APFL markets.
If you want peachy keen with somewhat long-term stability every year, follow affiliated baseball. If you want high drama every week, keep it tuned here to indoor football.

Josh I'm not sure saying this brings legitimacy to the APFL is so accurate. When Louisiana went and started their own league they were "sore losers" and wanted to win championships in their own league (not that I disagree there) Now Sioux City has failed time and time again to compete in the latest super-league so theyre taking their money (what little they have) and going elsewhere where they think they might be able to cmpete. That's all it is.

If they were going to fold or close up during the season, YES!!! Abilene, Corpus, and Sioux City are your only true examples. Ill take Wyoming, Reading and Wenatchee over them any day of the week. If the proposed merger of the SIFL/af2 happens where will the cost/travel saving likes of Corpus and Abilene go, both claimed thats why they left the IFL. Let alone all the other teams in the SIFL that went that way because of the promised cheaper cost of doing business. Do you think the af2.2 will be cheaper then the IFL? At the very least, in the IFL you would get to vote on your fate, and not have some money hungry lawyer in New Jersey deciding your future.

Money is not a problem in Sioux City. The owner being a businessman first and not wanting to lose money is the issue. This absolutely brings legitimacy to the APFL.
When was the last time you heard Bob Scott screwing a player over on salary? Just because he only pays the $200 a game doesn't mean he's been a terrible owner. This is huge that someone could consider the APFL legitimate enough to put a team in its eleventh season over there.

I definitely agree with exit here. Sioux City has the money to continue, but Bob will never spend like Billings or Sioux Falls. He is very successful at minimizing his losses by not over spending. The bills have always been paid in Sioux City. He knows he cant win against the big spenders.
This is a great addition for the APFL. It definitely brings some creditibility to the APFL. He may even have the players drive themselves to a few games and cut a huge travel expense. Also, the APFL has a sliding scale player salary system which means he can probably pay little to nothing for some players just looking for an opportunity. This is about money and wins, plain and simple. Would be awful sad if the Koyotes or Iowa still won the championship though.
