I think you're right about the attd. There just didn't seem to be very many people there. I was really hoping for a much bigger crowd, especially being the home opener and coming in 4-0. But I haven't really heard anything on the radio or seen anything out in the community to advertise this game. Hopefully the next game will see a dramatic increase in the numbers.
The game itself was great. It was exciting as both teams played well, or at least matched up well against each other. The Guard had a few defensive, um....issues that will need to be worked out. Coach Siani let them know exactly how he felt about those issues, too. One time, he even had to leave the bench area so he could go throw something and scream to let off some steam. But fortunately, the offense was able to overcome those difensive issues.
One Osceola player--sorry, don't remember which one--started limping off the field, but didn't get very far and some others came out to help him and carried him off the field. I hope he is okay and not seriously hurt. Mitch Galloway for the Guard also pulled a hamstring in the 2nd and was out for the game. He should be fine by next week, I hope.
The boys have a great thing going right now being 5-0, but there is still a lot of football to play before its over. Congratulations on the win!!!
Good luck to Osceola in future games, but thanks for 2 W's.

Great to see the Guard got another win this week. If you have been a round Fayetteville very long you know how funny the fans can be. I think the front office is really going to have to make a big push over the next two weeks to see the crowds get any better. I too have not seen or heard anything about the town. Hopefully next weekend the team will have a booth at the Dogwood festival to get the word out....hint hint hint

Thanks for the Dogwood Festival hint #1 Guard . We were out there last year and hopefully will be able to get some of the dance team and/or mascot out this year handing out flyers and such!
If any of you guys want to volunteer to hand out flyers/pocket schedules around town to promote the next game, please let me know. Just call the office @ 482-4328 and ask for Katina .
And thanks for coming out and supporting the team Saturday night!

I have called the office 3 times now and no one is ever there. I guess I need to leave message to talk to someone. I am willing to help get the word out about the team. I want to see the Crown packed. Do you know if there are plans to have any kinda tailgating concerts or anything like that??
