Dream Is Dead

Post by Shootmaster_44 » Wed Dec 31, 2008 9:00 am

Not that it is surprise to anyone but the Alaska Dream are dead. According to the Alaska Daily News (http://www.adn.com/dream/story/638454.html) they pulled the plug yesterday. So there goes another one this year. How many does that make dead during this season? Off the top of my head we must have hit 15 by now.

The article also said that the owner(forgot his name) is not counting them out for the future(if I read that right). But they have only sold 400 tix, so if they don't do a better promotion job, I don't see it happening. I'm sorry for their supporters, though.

Let's not forget this from the ABA's CEO:
The Alaska Dream will take a short break to re-coup and will begin a full season of play beginning January 1st. And the ABA will be doing a series of things to show how important The Alaska Dream, the state, the city, the fans, the media and everyone there are to the ABA. We hope you will accept our apologies and give The Alaska Dream and the ABA your support. Promise. We will not let you down again. Thank you.
One more time for emphasis:
...Promise. We will not let you down again....

There really is nothing that can happen in this league anymore that any of the veteran posters couldn't predict, is there?

It's so completely predictable now. Joe says something, and the absolute opposite is bound to occur.

And, to follow Sam's theme,

I look forward to the enevitable bashing of the Alaska ownership group, and the 'woe is me' victim portrayal by our Joe.

Why?????

Post by JeffCapo » Wed Dec 31, 2008 9:19 pm

Why is anyone throwing money into this waste of a league??? Especially as bad as the economy is, you'd think people would be more careful.
