NWBL 2006 Teams

Post by Dan K » Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:18 am

The NWBL lost three of its six teams from 2005--the Dallas Fury, Lubbock Hawks, and Birmingham Power. The league added the new San Diego Siege as a fourth team, but the Chicago Blaze did not want to participate in a four-team league, so they will not play in 2006. The NWBL recently announced another "fourth team" called the San Francisco Fury. Apparently, the league was planning to expand there in the future.

I'm trying to find out if anybody knows about the NWBL. Are they still around? Are they gonna have tryouts this year. When? Where? And how do I get in touch with someone to register? I tried the web site but it won't come up. If u know anything hit me back at called2ball1@tmail.com. Thanks and God bless

I have not heard anything about the restart of the NWBL. One of the league's most stable owners in the last season of 2006 was trying to bring back the Colorado Chill name as part of the WNBA.

The Women's Eastern Basketball Alliance plays in the winter in the East. The Women's Blue Chip Basketball League [www.wbcbl.com] is a developing semi-pro league that plays a two-month summer schedule.
