Thunder Signs Two Players from Open Tryouts
05/07/07 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Rockford Thunder

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) and
General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today that they have signed two
players for the 2007 season from last Saturday's open tryout. Per team
policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Both Noelle Adams and Jamie Davison were offered contracts after beating out
15 other tryout competitors in the five-hour tryout held at Sportscore One.
Included in the tryout was an interview session with Moore and owner Bob
Lowe. The team initially planned on signing just one player for the season.

Adams, who hails originally from Wheeling, W.Va., played her college ball at
Marshall (W.Va.) University with current Thunder players Amanda and Jessica
Williams. Her best seasons with the Thundering Herd came in 2005 and 2006
where her speed really showed. As a junior in 2005 she stole a team-high 22
bases in just 37 starts.

"I am just so excited about all of this and the wonderful opportunity I
have," stated Adams. "I truly believe I can be an asset to the Thunder this
season and I'm looking forward to a strong, fun season."

"In all sports, there is one thing that can't be taught, and that's speed.
And this girl's got it," said Moore! "She was the quickest player at the
tryout and she displayed her speed when she beat out a ground ball to second
base. Noelle can prove to be very important and a difference maker for us
this season on the bases."

Davison, who currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach at Louisville
University, graduated from the University of Evansville in 2004. She was a
career .350 for the Purple Aces and a three-time All-Missouri Valley
Conference selection, as well as a 2001 Easton All-American selection at
shortstop. An outstanding athlete, she also played parts of two seasons with
the Purple Aces women's basketball team.

"This is a great opportunity and I feel like I can still produce on the
field," said Davison. "They are giving me the shot of a lifetime and I'm
ready to get to work."

"Jamie is also a special talent," stated Moore. "She's the type of player
that can see action at six or seven positions during the season, and she's
also a very smart player."

With the addition of Adams and Davison, the team's official 2007 roster now
stands at 14, with three college draft picks pending. She joins gold medal
pitcher Cat Osterman, 2005 NPF League MVP Kristen Zaleski, Mackenzie
Vandergeest, twin sisters Amanda and Jessica Williams, Jackie Wong, Lindsay
Gardner, Kim Wendland, De De Justice, Amanda Freed, Serena Settlemier and
Erin Evans.
