Milwaukee looking into D-League in Oshkosh, WI
The city of Oshkosh (WI) is trying to bring an NBA D-League team to the city. The NBA's Milwaukee Bucks issued a request for proposals as they are seeking to establish a Wisconsin-based D-League team that would be located within two hours of Milwaukee. The city of Oshkosh would probably have to use a temporary facility at first until a 3,000-seat arena could be built for the team. The Bucks want the D-League team to start play in 2017.
Looks as if Green Bay is out of the running. Grand Chute (Appleton area), Sheboygan, Oshkosh and La Crosse have all been mentioned.

I'd Oshkosh is the likely choice. The D-League will likely see as many as five expansion teams for 2017-18. Oshkosh(Milwaukee), Rochester(Minnesota), Omaha(Denver), Kissimmee(Orlando), Bakersfield(LA Clippers). This also leaves Erie available to someone to pick-up(Portland, New Orleans or Atlanta). Hopefully the team doesn't get abandoned. By 2018-19, we could see the D-League at 30 teams with Washington's new arena finished, Atlanta placing a team somewhere in Georgia and either Portland or New Orleans left depending who doesn't pick up Erie. IMO, if Miami looks to add a team in South Florida, Portland & New Orleans would be covered for their teams. Portland could pick-up Sioux Falls & New Orleans could then pick-up Erie.

Apparently La Crosse and Grand Chute are out...it's down to Oshkosh, Racine and Sheboygan.
Racine's looking at building a new arena for the team...it may also house a USHL team.

A rehabbed armory in Sheboygan would be ideal; but I agree, it seems like Racine will prevail.
