hahahahahaha There is no way that the CBA is that desperate. Joe Newman is likely not pleased, but luckily for him very few people will ever read that press release and those who do will just find it funny.
My personal highlights:
The Gwizz are not going to the CBA... only the board of the Gwizz are.
The Gwizz board are very concerned about the CBA's ability to draw fans.

Wasn't a condition of the interleague games that the CBA wouldn't poach ABA teams?

Shameful.

Or maybe it's a case similar to playground choose-em-up sides.

"You take him."
"No, you take him."
"No, we had him last time."

Honestly, all the Gwizzlies did was say they were voting to join the CBA. Whether or not the CBA takes them is up to the CBA. They could have voted to join the NBA just as easily, it's not like it's a binding referendum on their own vote.

...and that's why I didn't think interleague play was such a bad thing. The same old same old is going to happen in the off-season regardless. Teams will leave the PBL. Teams will leave the CBA. Teams will leave the ABA. Teams will go to the PBL. Teams will go to the CBA. Teams will go to the ABA.

Chuck,
The CBA will take the Gwizzlies. The CBA took Apex then Michael Tuckman, didn't they?

Could you imagine the Gwizz filling out an application form with their grammar and writing skills... :D

Trust me, this won't happen. The CBA does not tolerate missing games and that is what the Gwizzlies did against Knoxville. Mr. Malone also needs to be able to put up the money to get into the league, pay for travel, etc and this is something I highly doubt he can do.

I also have it on good authority that this move is not likely to be approved. The ABA has confirmed that the Gwizzlies have been suspended from the ABA for their failure to make a weekend game.

The wheels are in motion. Many teams will jump to the CBA. Franchise fees are being restructured. This team stopped playing so they can gear up for next year in the CBA.

I guess Embry isn't holding his breath on those NBA coaching applications...at least he realizes he'll need a plan B.

Judging by the Gwizz history, it appears that whatever (if any) league they play in, they will be a liability, both on and off the court (especially with these press releases they submit)!
