Minot's magic number over Albany is 17.5
Pittsburgh's magic number over Albany is 52.0

IF FOUR TEAMS FROM EACH DIVISION MAKE PLAYOFFS

Yakama would qualify for playoffs
Oklahoma would qualify for playoffs
Butte's magic number over Rio Grande Valley is 25.0
Great Falls' magic number over Rio Grande Valley is 51.5

Minot would qualify for playoffs
Pittsburgh would qualify for playoffs
Albany's magic number over Atlanta is 18.0
East Kentucky's magic number over Atlanta is 3.0

As EK just passed Albany in the standings as of last night's Patroons loss... what combination would be necessary for EK to climb pass Pitt for #2 (EK 7 left, Pitt 8 games left)? Thanks for doing the posts Chuck... also, any word of Rashaad Powell?

not sure Chuck if I am figuring this correctly but as of this a.m.
Pitt 156.5 (8 left) for max of 212.5
E.K. 146 (7 left) for max of 195
Albany 131 (11 left) for max of 208

over the remaining games, seems pitt would have to average 2.5 (or less) per game to lose 2nd ... and EK would have to have 4.5 (or more) over the remaining games to gain 2nd from Pitt.... (pitt avg 3 per means EK avg 5 to take 2nd)

over those same games for the Patroons to gain second and Pitt averages 2.5 then Albany needs 4.5 over their remaining (if pitt avg 3 per means Albany avg 5 to get 2nd)....which is basically identical to the above....

Am I figuring this correctly?

I have been given no official word on the game with Atlanta, but I'm guessing that may turn to a forfeit. With that in mind we only have E.K. left at home on Saturday and 5 road games left to finish the season. So depending on the game with the Krunk, that would be 7 games left. If that is a forfeit, then 6 left.

I sent the league an email, enquiring about the playoffs, but no response so far.

Imagine that, what is taking the league so long? The longer it takes for them to respond the more and more I would say it is looking like 2 teams from each conference are going to make the playoffs.

Was at the Cavs game tonight and got to talk to one of the owners of the team for the entire second half of the game.

He told me that he was on the phone most of the day with the league trying to come to an agreement on the playoffs.

Not so much has how many teams - He said it would be the top two from each division.

But on what the format will be, 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5?

OKCavs67, I sent you a private message. Just pointing it out, in case the site doesn't make it obvious to you that you got one. No one has sent me one, so I'm not sure if the site notifies you or if you have to look.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear (even through hearsay) that they are discussing having the top 2 teams in each division.

Incase of a tie for second place, he said there could be a game played to decide second place.

Could be a very interesting next few weeks.

Yakama has pretty much won the National Division and we have got second place nailed down.

It is the American divison that will be fun to watch.
