Ay! Caramba

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the league is “building a bridge to Mexico” rather than erecting a wall with the creation of ABA Mexico, a developmental professional basketball league to begin in August. “Basketball in Mexico is very popular and the ABA has always had a wonderful relationship with Mexican teams sending many of our players there and having many Mexican players on our US teams,”: said ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “Having an ABA Mexico is something long overdue, but until we found the right people to execute the plan there, we couldn’t proceed. We now have the structure in place and are very excited about the new relationship with our fine neighbors to the south.”

Roberto (Bobby) Carlos Garcia has been named President/COO of ABA Mexico. In addition to his responsibility of building a 32-team league there, he will be overseeing major tournaments featuring ABA US teams and international teams, as well as an ABA Mexico Wheelchair Basketball League under the supervision of attorney Licenciado Tosca.

Dana Tulley has been named VP of ABA Mexico and will serve as US Liason. Ms. Tully is a former US Olympic gymnast. The ABA has appointed three ABA team owners to help coordinate the program including Marlon Minifee, owner of the Lardeo Swarm; Adam Salyer, owner of the Universal City Seraphim, and Al Smith, owner of the Orange County Novastars. The ABA is the largest professional sports league in the US with over 100 teams; it is also the most diviersified professional sprots league in the US with over 75% of its teams being owned by African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, women, Native American or disabled. And we believe it is better to have critics and people who care than not to have interest at all. Joe Newman 6/30/05
I never said the ABA had the greatest numbers regarding retention of teams. OldSchoolBaller (neither did we  )

Its also the ________ you can almost place any word in the blank.

For the length of time this league has been around it should be one of the most successful minor league's ever produced, but we all know the history and the reason why its but a foot note in any conversation about minor league sports or sports in general, it will be always remembered as a what could have been.

Maybe one of President Trump's planned border wall's unintended consequences will be to keep the ABA/Joe Newman out of Mexico.

MAKE BASKETBALL GREAT AGAIN.

Due to numerous threats of legal action from certain people.......all of the above is my opinion only and it should be noted that I have never invested in the ABA. It is simply one mans opinion.

Loser Joe Newman wants to start a basketball league in Mexico. Sad.
Old enough to remember when bashing the ABA was fun.
