Same team names?

Billings Outlaws/Lehigh Valley Outlawz
Wichita Wild/Alaska Wild
Frisco Thunder/Muskegon Thunder

I don't see a problem with this, but I wonder if any of the teams will change their names.

I doubt Wichita or Alaska will.
It worked in the CFL for years.

It sounds like Lehigh Valley may be a moot point.

Lehigh should be fine, but I wouldn't be shocked if Muskegon were a moot point.

Even with Muskegon a part of it, it's highly unlikely that any of the teams with common names would be aligned in the same divisions anyway. So there's a very slim chance that any of them would end up playing each other.

IHL folded and the AHL took in a few of the teams. That led the Milwaukee and Norfolk Admirals to play in the same league.

In the SEC, there's two Tigers and two Bulldogs in a 12-team conference (Mississippi State & Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU and Auburn Tigers).

Not a big deal.

I don't think it's that big of a deal because there was a section of an article when the league was formed that brought up the Alaska/Wichita name and they said the two teams were so far apart they were confident they wouldn't be confused. Frisco and Muskegon are pretty far away as well. Same with Billings and Lehigh Valley.

Billings could always change their name back to the Mavericks.
