IFL continues in their top position of th eindoor world, with SF realizing what a lesser league the CIF is......uhhh 8 teams, not 5.
Correct. Possibly stronger than in 2017. Having Az banking coin in the league has its benefits

 The IFL and CIF traded lawsuit threats over the IFL\'s Sioux Falls Storm and Wichita Falls Nighthawks leaving for the CIF and the CIF\'s Bloomington Edge and West Michigan Ironmen (Muskegon) leaving for the IFL. The CIF had placed certain restrictions on the Sioux Falls and Wichita Falls for playing in its 2018 season, so Sioux Falls returned to the IFL. As of now Wichita Falls is not part of either league, while Bloomington and West Michigan remain in the IFL.

The owners should be upset and asking for each commissioners resignation, neither league first of all has the cash to have a long legal fight, who's going to pay for the over charging lawyers that will drag the payday out further than the leagues could be around.
And certainly cost more than either league is worth, look for Wichita Falls to go away and the other two organizations to struggle and find themselves in the trash pile as well, evidence of this is simple they were attempting to leave a league they didn't see a future for them in from a business perspective so now to re-enter that same situation won't change the bottom line.

Quite the opposite AZ and to a lessor extent Iowa are banking coin and are doing what that need to protect that positive cash flow. Az is rumored to be part of the cif lawsuit as a defendant

No team in the CIF comes Close to that kinda muscle, CIF will be wise to let it go.

Exactly, 4th only two teams are having any success in the league. And at this point AZ will float the IFL because it wants to continue operating at a zero sum operating budget, but that has nothing to do with the commissioner whom you seem to make a puppet at this point. If teams are willing to leave the IFL because of their operating budget's and the commissioner clearly appears unable to recruit any new membership then what use is he?

The IFL and NAL are riding in the same ship neither has good leadership from the commissioner office, AZ and Florida should simply split up the leagues into divisions and each control them under one name,at this point between them they have 6 teams with a lot of maybe's to be added.

One additional closing point, the NAL now has teams signing a 3 year commitment, but why sign it? when the league can't guarantee it will itself be around in 3 years. This commitment is a sign of desperation the time has come for these leagues to work together instead of continuing the downward spiral the industry has been on for a long time.

I probably should have started a new thread but since the board is what it is right now here is the opinion about the state of the CIF released on its site, first read what it states.

The Champions Indoor Football league is excited and looking forward to another great season while we continue to strive to make a positive impact in all our communities, foster the support of each and every team and community we serve, and build on the momentum we have been working on as we are on the verge of entering our 4th season.

The CIF would like to update our fans, sponsors, and the media about some recent changes. Two teams, the Bloomington Edge and West Michigan Ironmen, have decided to not return to the CIF this year. The CIF worked diligently to try to retain these two members, and these moves come despite the persistent hard work and good faith efforts by the Board of Directors of the CIF, and in spite of legally binding League Affiliation Agreements (LAA) being signed by both team’s owners. These LAAs were signed prior to the league meetings held in Wichita in July, in which both Bloomington and West Michigan participated. These commitments are taken seriously by all member teams as they are the basis and foundation for all playing partners in determining their own business decisions, and the viability of their respective teams, as well as having legal and contractual obligations.

Recently the CIF also made the announcement that both Wichita Falls and Sioux Falls would be joining the CIF. A few weeks after those announcements, Wichita Falls, Sioux Falls, and the CIF received notification from the IFL that they were disputing the legal withdrawal of both franchises from their signed league agreements, and subsequently threatened to sue both teams and the CIF. While both teams and the CIF were confident that they had followed the proper procedures to withdraw, the CIF feels it is in the best interest of all parties to avoid disputes between leagues, and to avoid protracted litigation which creates uncertainty about which teams are playing where. The CIF regrettably was unable to schedule Wichita Falls or Sioux Falls for the 2018 season. These are both wonderful markets for indoor football, with lots of football tradition, and we the league hope that they, their fans, and their sponsors can sustain their momentum in the future which will allow them to succeed amid all this uncertainty.

While there is still much to be done before the 2018 season kicks off, the Champions Indoor Football league is excited for our fourth, and best, season yet! We have 11 strong teams that will be listed on the schedule set to be released in the next few days. We would like to thank our fans, sponsors, players, coaches, and partners for allowing us the opportunity to bring this amazing sport to our local communities and will strive to keep everyone updated of any changes.

Now, the thing about this generic release is it says pretty much nothing.
If I were a potential investor owner why would I have any real interest in losing my cash this way, first they apparently forgot that CenTex left the league after a really bad transition effort to another city oh wait they are simply sitting out this season  secondly even though they released the schedule it is being redrafted so don't buy your tickets yet.(so semi pro) Third they really like to use the word strong but folding franchises does not make for a strong league CenTex will have folded twice in two years shutdown in San Angelo now again in Belton, and the commissioner puts this state of the league out  it seems the league has no real direction, they state no reservation about the Revs move into a city that has a AAA baseball team that averages 6,000 fans per game that will be playing around the same time frame the struggling Revs will be trying to give tickets away for any one that would have interest in indoor football, yea the league has some real out look for its partners (teams)
the Centex Cavalry and Dodge City Law folded

CHRIS SIEGFRIED ANNOUNCED AS NAL COMMISSIONER John Gregory Steps Down Following Successful 2017 Season

I read this a week ago and first wondered why this boards weekly sports report failed to place an article out on the league, wait they were to busy compiling useless articles on other things, the headline shows whats wrong with these indoor leagues from the leadership standpoint.
How in hell could he have had a successful 2017 when teams folded in the middle of the season, the league had to cover operating cost for about a third of the teams Corpus, the wolfpack those same Firebirds listed as a member this season, this headline should have read simply Gregory steps down everyone who is interested in the league knows why.
These commissioners make themselves way to important.
