With Luck,
The 2007 NIFL Champions will move on to a better league, as has the majority of League Champions have in the past.
The Fayetteville Guard 2007 NIFL Championship!!!!!!!!
WIFL or United Indoor Football League!
Just my two cents
But cost would be alot less in the WIFL.
Is that true? I read that the player salaries in the WIFL are higher than in the UIF and that the WIFL is has very strict criteria for financial stability, and that's why they settled on only four teams in their inaugural year.
I'd be interested in knowing the salary comparisons between the leagues if anyone knows.
UIF - $200 per player per game plus $50 per win.
WIFL - $250 per player per game plus $50 per win. Each team can designate 4 franchise players to receive $500 per game.
NIFL - $200 per player per game minus $60 Player Association Fee. Is this fee mandatory?, Is there a win bonus?
AIFA - ?
CIFL - ?
IFL - ?
AF2 - ?
The upfront payment of player salaries in an escrow account that you mention seems like a great idea. The players take the physical risks, and provide the product, they should be protected from the financial risks. Is the UIF the only league that does this?

Actually in the WIFL it is only one franchise player per team. Plus af2 salary is $200 per game with $50 bonus for win, plus of course your living expenses paid for. Plus in af2 technically all the players are employed by the league and "designated" to their teams by the league office, so that guarantees players are paid even if the team ownership were to have problems during a season.
WIFL would be cheaper for Fayetteville than the UIF in travel costs alone. All UIF teams are more Midwest centered, while the WIFL is a Southern league.

af2 used to be $200 a game (that was a couple of years ago, I don't know if it changed).
Player salaries are actually a pretty low expense for a team ($4,800 a week for a 24-player team at $200 a game before taxes). That's $76,000 a season. Some teams pay more than that in arena rent.
All the other expenses add up quickly. So if you draw 3,500 fans at $10 a game roughly $3 a ticket is going to the players.

And that doesn't count for the team owners collecting consession bonuses at 6 bucks a beer

Fayetteville to WIFL
The WIFL makes perfect sense for Fayetteville, but, they will need new ownership to afford a move. They tried for this year, and couldn't afford the entry fee, and the operating costs. If we can get an owner with some money, the move makes perfect sense. The city will support the move, if we can get away from the shoestring way things are being run now.
