Crazy Sarasota Schedule

Post by LKLDHAWG » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:23 pm

I was looking at the NIFL master schedule, and I noticed a very wierd schedule. In the first 5 weeks Sarasota has only 1 scheduled game. In week 9 they have 2 games scheduled, 2 days apart. 5-12 in Ft Myers and 5-14 in Sarasota against Miami. Then during week 13 & 14 they have 4 games in 10 days. 6-9 in Palm Beach, then 2 days later on 6-11 Palm Beach visits Sarasota, thenn 3 days later on 6-14 Sarasota is at Pt St Lucie, Then 3 days later on 6-18 against Ft Myers in Sarasota. I would say the schedule maker might have dementia, or was creating the schedule at the same time they were engrosed in watching America Idol.

Ask Cleveland Gary or Carolyn Shiver about this ...

league officials don't see any detriment to having teams play multiple games in a short window. So this is why the schedule is this way. So this was not accidental.

Wow, I didn't realize it was that bad. Definitely some player safety issues there.

NIFL Coaches meeting in Florida?

Post by suge night » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:51 pm

Word is they are having a coaches meeting in Florida today but question is how many coaches know about the meeting? This is the kind of stuff that will cause you to question if the league is built on rock or sand.

That kind of schedule sets the stage for continuing a great NIFL tradition.....forfeits. Not that they will need any help in that department.
Life is funny, unless you're too stupid to get the joke.

I wonder if they know just how hard it will be to get fans to come out to multiple games in the same week, especially 2 days apart. Football is not like baseball. You want to make coming to the games an event! That won't happen when you have games so close together.
