Blitz on the Brink
Honestly, I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

This league (NIFL) is like a frickin' cockroach. You could throw a nuclear bomb at it and it would still survive

So I'd rather spend a quarter of an ABA franchise to repair my car, as opposed to spending a franchise and a half to get a new car that might have some planned obsolescence that causes it to break down 5 days after the end of the warranty period.

Not surprising. There are several franchises that are having major financial issues. With the fees and budgets for these teams, we will see teams going by the wayside. The af2 is just to expensive. A few years ago, the af2 was considering shutting down operations. In probably the last major push, the af2went after several teams from the indoor leagues. The trend doesnt seem to be working very well. The game is just to expensive to be a second tier of the AFL. Why does one owner own so many franchises? How long before we hear about the imminent end or major operational changes? If not I can see over 50% of the af2 franchises folding by the end of the 2008 season.
