af2 "revolt?"

Post by off_the_nets » Wed Jul 29, 2009 1:26 pm

I read in an article recently that several "renegade" af2 owners have had reported meetings about leaving the af2 and either joining another or starting another league. Anyone have an info on this?

You'd have the info if you link to the article. Was it online?

I can imagine owners being uncertain about what a bankruptcy court might do given the AFL's piece of af2. Whatever may be happening would, IMO, be a natural reaction.

League isn't going into bankruptcy so af2 can continue on its own.

Creditors that are owed the 14 million from the afl can force bankruptcy. They have a right to petition that to a judge. It may end up that the af2 teams 50.1 percent of them go to the creditors

I keep hearing from supposed know-it-alls that $14mil is NOT the amount owed. It's more.

Which makes me wonder what exactly could the AFL league office have done to rack up that amount of debt? They had a couple of offices and a guy that like to travel first class because of his extraordinary stature. But $14 mil (or more) worth?

Could neutral site Arenabowl caused such massive debt? Were the officiating crews that well paid? What is the extent of this debt and who are these creditors?

Well, now that I am reading more and more articles about the AFL and possibilities of the AFL and af2 (merger with the IFL?) there is to little information to make heads or tails of what's going on. I guess we'll have to take a "wait and see" approach.

afl ...gone af2...gone. The remaining teams want to go to the CIFL....NOT the IFL , reasons? Most out there do not like IFL owners and leader.

Well that would be a major coupe for the CIFL.
Sounds good to me. As an observer of all three $200/game
leagues you mention, I find the CIFL game most enjoyable.
With parity among it's member teams it could also be the
most successful.

I doubt the AF2 teams would want to conform to the different rules of the CIFL.
Just when I thought I was out....They pull me back in.
