The Wrangler fans liked him, we had two kickers at the beginning of the year and he lost out because our coach felt a kicker wasn't worht a roster spot.
They went with an international player because you can have 2 per team as exempt players that don't count as a roster spot. So they had a kicker that couldn't reach the nets, he had to either kick it into the stands or line drive it and cost the team tons of field position.

Kimo would be out there on special teams making tackles because they wouldn't let him kick - lol

He played here for a year or two. He was mainly a back-up and kickoff kicker from what I remember. Bethel hired a coach from Oregon (Willamette), who brought over a bunch of players from Hawaii (many of them never owned a winter coat). The coach was fired a couple of years later for cussing out the grandson of a major benefactor to the school (the player happened to be all-conference), so most of the Hawaii players left when the coach did. The coach wound up as an assistant at Benedictine in northeast Kansas.
Bethel doesn't have many pro players to date. A couple played af2 for a season. A couple went to the APFL for a season.

The Wranglers turf is now at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC. The SC Force of the AIFA play on the turf, which still has 'Wranglers' in the endzones (they blotted out 'Austin.'

It's funny seeing all these recycled rugs all over the country. How does it work? Do the arenas purchase the rugs or do the teams own the rugs? Just curious.

Used to be (especially at the peak of indoor soccer), the arena would buy the turf, but with so many arenas getting stiffed when a tenant would fold after a season or two, they started making the teams buy them. (Sometimes the arena would repo the turf after a team folded, owing the arena money.)
