Words are nice.

They have a long way to go. It'll be interesting to see if they get there.

Take it slow and add only owners with funds and arena with stands.

I have always advocated before final acceptance into any league

1] Provisional acceptance and within 2 wks if not sooner
2] Vetting of the owner as to Character & Financial Solvency

A) Performance Bond in place to complete the full season
for 1st yr team
B) Arena contract in place
C) An acceptable playing surface
D) Player's Insurance

I would think these are minimum standards for any league
starting or bringing in a new member.

And those leagues which try, such as the PIFL, find themselves where?

A respected league that completed a full schedule of games.

The PIFL did not drop games during the season.
Maybe they should have had a no back-out clause once the
sched is put out or the bond holder pays the remaining teams
for damages.

I'm not arguing the PIFL was a bad league. Quite the opposite. It's one of the leagues that endeavored to do things correctly. But it now finds itself in a precarious position. I'd submit that one of the reasons for its current situation is that it failed to expand quickly enough to offset inevitable losses. Why? Because it had standards for ownership that were higher than some of the other leagues. It could not entice enough new owners to join the league.

So if having standards for ownership means you can't retain ownership, the question is even simpler.

Is indoor football a viable business?

It's always been an open question. It's more open now as the NFL becomes more and more of a full-year operation, and fans who might have flocked to indoor football in the past can sit home and watch non-stop NFL coverage on the NFL Network and the other NFL network (ESPN) instead.

So are Chicago (Blitz) and Muskegon staying with the AIF?

That's almost a no brainer. They certainly should be -- and I'd bet they are -- looking at the CIFL.
For both the Blitz & W Muskegon their furthest travel to Erie is closer than the nearest AIF arena.

Then again its the AIF and JM may want them to play each other 7X a season?A trip to Savanah Ga might look pretty good the last wk of February or early March
