whos out

Word is Kentucky, and Dayton are out. That's for sure. Who is next?

No change since my previous post

Concerning the C I F L.
Who is returning and who is not.
Starting with the Champs

Erie ( my team ) will return... already selling season tickets
Marion, I expect they again will have the game in central Ohio.
Saginaw, most surely unless they want to shoot themselves in the foot.
NKY (Highland Ky) returning for year two
Chicago, found a home arena and psych'd to go.
Detroit, fiasco in the motor expect to set up in Flint
Port Huron, once proud franchise... gone. But a possible rebirth here
Dayton, expect to go dark one season ??? (right)
Bluegrass (Lexington) Warhorses bye... arena woes
Ky Xtreme (Louisville), Arena oversized hurt the bottom line
Iffy, could return with right sized arena.

Expect 1 defection from the LSFL/CPIFL merger.
Bloomington makes most sense.
A bird said to watch Indiana

Northern Kentucky's GM resigned yesterday so I am not at all certain to the future of this team. The team also cancelled its upcoming tryouts. I would say that it is no more than 50/50 that the CIFL plays in 2015. If the CIFL does play in 2015, then I expect it to look muck like last season, one owner funding enough teams to make it look like a legitimate league.

As I see it, there are two viable teams that are strong enough to move on.
Saginaw and Erie.
Saginaw Sting owners also own the CIFL so they're not likely to move,
unless the CIFL folds.

Erie wants stability in a league and might be enticed to move to the PIFL
if the CIFL is deemed too shakey. The IFL is a travel nightmare.
The PIFL with Lehigh Val, H-burg & Trenton are within reasonable travel.
The Erie Explosion is marketed as a professional team and gets embarrassed
by the Detroits & Lexingtons that are run on a bar room budget.

Chicago seems to be able field a team this year. The owner(s) are back after a good yr on the turf but ugly att figs.

Marion usually hangs around inspite of low att nos. Looked less then a 1,000
at the championship game with at least 100 from Erie.

Who else?
November should be quite telling.

Dayton is going dark this year.

Which actually means we don't have the money this yr,
and the "we'll be back next year" phrase is usually added.

The Cincinnati-Dayton-Troy market is one of the most roasted, toasted, burned out husk of a shell market that has ever graced the standings of an indoor football league. If I were a prospective owner, I wouldn't spend dollar 1. Fans won't buy a ticket in the market. Sponsors won't spend a dollar in the market.
So many shady owners have killed it dead, leaving a burned, rotting corpse with flies buzzing around.

Northern Kentucky officially ceased operations today.

It is time to bury the CIFL, any team still operating better be scrambling for another league.

The dissolution of the CIFL continues with the Chicago Blitz now official to the X-League.

I'm sad to see the CIFL go, but it's nice to have the number of leagues reduced. I think if the CIF and IFL could get along, their regional foot print would fix nicely together.
