Odds for Winning It All in 2013.

Post by BoomerFan » Tue Jan 01, 2013 3:42 pm

Last year half the League was contending for Playoff spots right into the last week of the season, so predicting which team will become the 2013 League Champions is impossible. This parity should however help with generating support for your favorite team. That’s not to say every team’s chances of winning it all are equal, so below are some “Odds for-- Winning It All”, as of 1.1.2013:

5-1 Traverse City: Best team for most of last year, much of that team is returning.

8-1 So. Illinois & Schaumburg: Strong organizations willing to spend to recruit to fill roster weaknesses.

10-1 Gateway, Lake Erie, Florence & River City: Solid teams with reasonable budgets to contend.

15-1 Windy City: Rebuilding required with key departures.

20-1 Normal: Could become the “most improved” club for 2013, unfortunately coming off a dismal past season.

30-1 Evansville, Joliet, Rockford & Washington: These teams are definitely making moves to improve, but there are no short-cuts to becoming Champions.

1000-1 Frontier Greys: The integrity of the league requires this team to play hard, have fun and lose alot.

Revising the Odds.

With 15 games to go, time to revise the odds:

5-1: Traverse City: Consistent and solid all year, but it’s hard to repeat last’s years performance, will need to get hot or get a break to become Champions.

5-1: Schaumburg: Two trades made at the trading deadline have to make them favorites to make play-offs and perhaps more.

6-1: Gateway Florence & Lake Erie: Teams with moderately difficult schedules remaining, Lake Erie is hottest team with 15 games left, Gateway coming off a rough patch and Florence with the easiest finish of all play-off contenders.

7-1: Southern Illinois: Toughest last 15 games in the Frontier League. Can they do it?

Everyone Else: Waiting for next year.
