a Texas division by 2018?

Atlantic League: The independent Atlantic League is looking to add three more teams in Texas by the 2018 season to create a four-team Southwest Division that would include its only current Texas-based team called the Sugar Land Skeeters. Seven of the league's eight teams are located in the East (New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland) and a proposed Southwest Division was discussed after the Sugar Land Skeeters were added for the 2012 season. The league is reported to be in discussions with five potential ownership groups.

Maybe Virginia Beach does join eventually to round out the league at 12 teams?

Bluefish to fold after 2017 season? RoadWarriors to return or does the league have a new team ready to replace them?

Devastating news. The Bridgeport municipal government, led by Mayor Joe Ganim, a convicted felon, has destroyed our baseball team.

I will reply when I have more information.

Might seem like Atlantic City could replace Bridgeport if the owners don't find a new venue in Connecticut.

Bridgeport to relocate to High Point, North Carolina beginning in 2019. Ownership currently exploring options to play at a temporary location in 2018.

Road Warriors back for 2018. I wonder what 2019 will bring when High Point tells the Atlantic League that they won't be ready in 2019?

And yet I keep wondering about those phantom expansion teams in Texas the league always talks about bringing in. Loudoun failed, Virginia Beach failed, High Point has no info, Camden & Bridgeport got the rug pulled out from them. Atlantic City is rumored to return. The hope of this league ever going past 8 teams seems less and less realistic.

Atlantic City sounds interesting, but as with all Indy League teams...I'll believe it when I see it. And I agree with you, going past 8 teams in this league doesn't seem realistic.

High Point officially announced for 2019. Have to wonder where the league would be if Bridgeport & Camden weren't forced out and Virginia Beach & Loudon's teams came through. That would be 12 teams, plus whatever Texas teams might join the league. Hopefully the league considers bringing back Atlantic City and adds that 2nd Texas team. I'm sure Sugarland would much prefer another team nearby to off set travel expenses.
