The operating cost just went up on every other team because the travel associated with this change will bring pressure to bear on old and new teams, causing them all to spend extra cash, the losses associated with this will change the league for certain after the season, but will cause problems during.

For every team this would likely SAVE them money because of Laredo's location. Cancelled trips and ultimately saving money with off days and not having to provide hotel rooms during times when Laredo would have been in their city. Yes, home teams cover visiting teams hotel rooms to a certain # of rooms.

On paper you're right it looks that way but the truth is this will be costly, those who have walked this line before will tell you this impacts everything.

Here's some tell tell truth from court documents

In the months of March and April 2017, defendants Marcus Holliman and Saul Villarreal collected at least $65,725.00 in revenues for Laredo Baseball investors, LLC and Laredo Baseball Holdings,Inc. despite these receipts, they were unable to make payroll on March 31, 2017 defendants have used these funds to pay themselves instead and have no funds available for continued operations.

They are done Torres has only committed to take on the responsibility she hasn't placed any cash up to support the wording, its over. There is currently $352 plus thousand open she's not showing a cashier check for that to the court so she's essentially speechless to the court.

Final point the league has essentially become a northeastern league with two Texas based teams, that travel budget will send both into the bankrupt vault, Airhogs draw less than 1,000 per game and don't expect Cleburne to do better than that as it stands they may not even draw that for opening day.

As you read Ms. Torres believes the other 2 have allegedly mismanaged and misappropriated funds in the past. They also have ZERO financial investment in the team and were originally brought in by the City I believe to watch over the orginal Lemurs owner. In other words they likely came with stadium and lease. According to people associated with the team Ms. Torres has more than enough finances and backing with her father to provide whatever is needed to make the season happen and she has fully committed to that and has said that if she is given control of her team she will fund the season. The order still sits in front of the judge as of this minute unsigned. With the conflict of having the judge married to the city attorney it sets up for a long drawn out court case and a mess. I guess in a few days we will see what happens.

Just posted on Facebook Page of At This Moment ... a Laredo News service https://www.facebook.com/atm.infocast/

It looks like everyone will know tomorrow!

#STATEMENT - The Court has set a telephone conference for tomorrow morning. Pending is our emergency motion to modify or partially dissolve temporary orders to save the Laredo Lemurs. If Ms. Arianna Torres, as sole or majority shareholder, is immediately allowed to take control of her investment and team, there will be a 2017 baseball season with the Laredo Lemurs. If not, the 2017 season will be lost, the membership in the American #Baseball Association will be lost, and the team will be lost.
Ms. Torres is doing everything she possibly can to put a team on the field in Laredo to play in the Uni-Trade Stadium. We are hopeful that our pending motion will be granted.

From the previous court record

Plaintiff Ariana Torres has failed to (forward) any of the (Ordered) funds or previously (Ordered) bank statements.

City Attorney April 24,2017
Clarifies it will not approve any assignments of interest to other parties nor amend.

As I had stated she could simply get a cashier check for $352,000.00 then she has a voice, and by the way you did notice that they have already lost over 3 million so where was daddy's money during that time and she seems to have sat by and watched, to now become some saving dark side vigilante don't look for the court to buy it,the lawyer simply is doing what lawyers do mostly waste the courts time. the filing of this motion is just that. It appears that daddy may have thought his cash was more useful in his pocket.

Again I ask why in the hell should she or her family provide funding for their investment and team if they are not the ones running it?? True it sounds a bit crazy but maybe if you knew of all the corruption in Laredo, the story of how Holliman and Villarreal ended up in the positions they are in and a few other things you would also wonder the same thing!

Her family not only paid more than a fair price to acquire the team but they paid off EVERY PENNY of the previous owners debt!! Almost immediately after they did that the two clowns started their crooked attempt at a take over by allegedly trying to sell the team out from under Ms. Torres and her father which is the main reason that they are dealing with this court case. In the meantime it seems Mr. Holliman has the stadium held hostage keeping Ms. Torres from even entering HER OFFICE at the stadium WHERE HER COMPANIES RUN THE TEAM and THE STADIUM. Did you read that anywhere?? Of course not because you have simply gone by the one thing that was shared and not by looking at much else!

Just remember ..... just because you read it online doesn't mean it is all true :-) Have a great weekend!

Calm down  remember the court document is where the information came from.
Secondly you point out a masterful mistake by the Torres family in the buying of the original team, they took on the debt of the former team group while its standard practice to attempt to pass that debt on, as a buyer you should never do it unless its marginal in fixed budget of what it will take to become profitable in the first year.

It would also appear that they failed to negotiate with the city on the lease agreement, I'll stop there but appears the wolf was in the hen house from the leagues standpoint and the former ownership both made out like a bandit.

While the Torres may be good people when dealing with these leagues wolves are always nearby so talk and watch with both hands in your pocket's.

I will leave you with this ......... while their season could be ended with what the judge decides today just keep an eye on the court battle. If their season ends today I suspect a refiling and added parties to their Lawsuit will happen. In the end it is a lawsuit that will likely become very interesting and one they probably will not lose!

Have a great weekend!
