RIP Aces

Post by pilots13 » Thu Jul 11, 2013 5:01 am

Just read an article that the Alexandria Aces have folded. I think they were averaging like 300 fans a game in a half condemned stadium. Not really all that surprising. Now they need to play out the season with 5 teams. And there's some press release about a summer league which may or may not have anything to do with the Aces folding. Between this and the Admirals dropping to Amateur status in the Pacific Association looks like things could be crashing and burning out west.

Central Louisiana qualifies as "out west"?

In the Indy ball world, yes. Even historically everything west of the Mississippi has been considered "out west."

McAllen also folded, so 4 teams. And "Summer League" and "team tryouts" are just money-grabs from people who 1) are desperate to play or 2) don't realize they never had a chance in the first place. RIP UBL, this thing is a joke.
