United League Done????

Post by riverrider35 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 8:51 pm

Rumors every where about the United league being done now.
Amarillo having legal troubles, and they were the backbone of the league. San Angelo been looking elsewhere for a while now, Las cruces, Del Rio, and Roswell saying no the United to join the newly formed Pecos League. Also Coastal Bend has to be done and Laredo not looking good.
Amarillo and San Angelo would be great fits in the pecos league. they will cut their travel expenses alot and do real well in the league.
Hopefully they announce a end soon and not drag it on so the other franchises can find a league ASAP

According to them, no. But in reality, they appear to be finished. They merged with the Northern league and Golden league to form the new North American League. Several teams dropped out of sight. The Amarillo Dillas were evicted from their ballpark because of the aforementioned financial troubles. The ULB name is going to be a part of the the new NAL, but IMO, they are essentially done. Three struggling leagues combining to make one is a sign of desperation.

Amarillo will have a new team in the American Association called the Gold Sox. Four Northern league teams defect to the AA and I would not be surprised if more teams from these three leagues did the same.
