Mexican League fans
Hello everyone!
I'd like to know if there are any Mexican League fans north of the border, and what team do you root for.
Greetings!

I like the team in Aguascalientes, my dad is managing for them right now. It looks like the team is not doing too well, I hope they improve!

Can someone explain something to me about the Mexican League.
Is the Mexican League really AAA? Minor League Baseball lists it as AAA but I don't see any team affiliations with the Mexican league. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joe

They rank it there based on the talent within the league, not because of the affiliations.

This league (NIFL) is like a frickin' cockroach. You could throw a nuclear bomb at it and it would still survive

So I'd rather spend a quarter of an ABA franchise to repair my car, as opposed to spending a franchise and a half to get a new car that might have some planned obsolescence that causes it to break down 5 days after the end of the warranty period.

All the teams in the Mexican League (LMB) are independent, and pay (and own) their own players. However, they are part of "official" minor league baseball. The "AAA" rating is a holdover from 30 years ago when the league really was on a par with the International League or the PCL. Today, the talent could best be described as somewhere between Strong A level but below AA level
The Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) which plays in the winter from October to January is a much higher level league, and should be considered AAA.
The third league in Mexico, the Liga Norte de Sonora (LNS) is a feeder league for the Mexican league, and its teams have affiliations with Mexican League teams. It should be considered short season A level.

Mexico Tournament
Just wondering if any of you have contacts in Mexico... we don't have High School ball in our part of Canada but we have a team that trains all winter and we are investigating a tournament in Mexico... the players are all 16 - 18 years old. Any info would help.
Thanks,
Kevin
Thanks,

We checked out a few ballparks in Tecate and Juarez... both have held professional baseball and are in great shape. The photographs are listed under "All Ballparks By State". Scroll down to Mexico
