What Eastern League Team is Moving to Ottawa

Post by EHL Historian » Sun Sep 09, 2012 1:16 am

The Canadian press is reporting that it is a done deal that an unidentified Eastern League team will be moving to Ottawa for the 2014 season.

Binghamton has been rumored with a New York Penn League team moving to Binghamton.
Are you aware of any concrete information or additional strong rumors ???

My fear is that it might be the Richmond Flying Squirrels, giving up on the idea of ever getting a new ballpark here.

Every sign points to Binghamton moving to Ottawa.

Richmond may have stadium issues but they also lead the league in attendance.

Erie could also be in play and could then join the NYP league.

It won't be Richmond - they just renewed their lease on the Diamond through 2015 with an option to 2017, which might be enough time for the metro area to figure out how and where to build a new ballpark. Maybe.
