Lakewood BlueClaws

Post by ACsurfan » Sun Sep 12, 2010 5:50 pm

Nice effort this season in making the SAL Championships for the 2nd year in a row.

Friday's game (2-1 BlueClaws loss) before an enthusiastic crowd of 7,335 in Lakewood was one of the most exciting minor league ballgames I've ever seen. Last night, attendance crowd inexplicably dropped to around 3,000 but the Claws came away with a 6-0 victory.

Phillies do a nice job of stocking Lakewood with talent.

Ocean County, NJ is fast becoming Phillies territory with each passing season...of course, it helps that the parent team is a winner. Meanwhile, the Mets fan base in Ocean County keeps shrinking.

WIP Sports Radio 610 in Philly needs to change it's signal direction to include more of Ocean County. The station can't be heard in Toms River ( a mere 50 miles from Philadelphia) at night and is less then crystal clear during the day...
