CHL-IHL merger

Four IHL clubs, Quad Cities Mallards , Bloomington Prairie Thunder, Dayton Gems, and Fort Wayne Komets are merging with the CHL. More information by tne end of June, 2010. Rumors of an expansion club in Saint Charles, and another one for the 2011 season in Evansville...

What about Chicago? Are they still in the picture?

No official word other than a vague mention that "details on new teams for 2010-11 will be announced this summer" (paraphrased).

Several reports indicate that St. Charles, MO, may get another team... I haven't seen anything indicating the return of the Hounds.

Looks like Chicago will be playing in the ECHL next season:

Chicago wasn't mentioned with the press release of the ECHL new division names... We'll see... Flint and Port Huron have folded, a NAHL club got the lease in Flint...

Chicago aka Hoffman Estates joins in 2011-12 in the E, but Evansville jumps up for the old MHL/AAHL as they bought the license formerly owned by Muskegon....
