The owner of the Tacoma MASL team to be based in Kent did not have rights to the Tacoma Stars name and basically changed it to the Seattle Impact, based in Kent. The Tacoma Stars name will be used by a team in the new elite-level Western Indoor Soccer League that will start play in November 2014. The WISL will be to indoor soccer what the elite-level Evergreen Premier League is to outdoor soccer. The EPL started play this year with eight teams based in the state of Washington. This has all been documented on http://www.goalwa.net.

The MASL is preparing a 23 team league with 4 divisions. The first game will be held on October 25th when the MIssouri Comets face the Dallas Sidekicks.

Hope the MASL can get a tv deal. Hopefully some cable channel has interest in them.

Make that 22 teams--Rochester owner apparently drops out due to dispute over MASL scoring system.

I'm calling BS on the Rochester owner. Folding the team because of the scoring system?! I'm guessing he has the usual money issues and came up with this lame excuse.

I'm glad they're going with 1 point goals. The MISL system was too gimmicky.

The line has been that the Lancers had the best attendance in the league last year, so it couldn't be the money. Sam's "buddy" is trying to reinforce that AND the decision being how it was stated. There was something that let slip, however...

The lease at Blue Cross Arena makes it tough for any tenant not named the Rochester Americans to make money, but Sam was going to keep going with it.
Yeah, you be the judge.
