Switch Point Time? CIF Team Added

Post by suge night » Mon Aug 08, 2016 5:14 pm

With only two remaining indoor leagues in play now, is it time for those two to combine? or simply letter themselves into a more realistic example of what the leagues are from the perspective of AA Triple A.

Of course neither wants to think of itself as a AA level league but the reality is they are, but with two leagues standing and the very possibility of some member teams switching leagues for economic reasons, their will be some changes coming.

First the IFL you notice that only one Texas team plays there while 4 others play in that other league with a proposed new team coming in central Texas this could make up a division alone featuring all Texas teams easily reaching a 6 team division, the business math clearly says cut your overhead by switching to cut travel cost. This same thing goes into play in the CIF some teams will benefit by switching to IFL and cut travel.

As for the proposed ADL with most of its proposed teams coming from a league that had no real over site it will be difficult to maintain order and operating cost will doom most of its new member teams who won't be prepared to take on the amount of loss for a new team, and it will implode inside out before any real standard can be put in place, but will easily fill the class A level void, and as of today their are no other contenders to a class A level league in place. All the other letter leagues are loosely organized and are of little consequence in this conversation for league organization on the minor league level.

A press conference held by the new CIF team CenTex Cavalry barely rippled in central Texas news, In the past this would have been medium level news excitement in that area of Texas but today they would rather report on the high school teams in Belton and Temple, this doesn't hold well for the new team. Remember the two Austin teams well you can expect the same results here. There biggest problem will be limited fan base verses the math of operating with all the over head they will have, if they had another model I would say they would be around for many years to come but seeing they are already essentially looking for sponsors who already mostly back Baylor U. and smaller colleges in the area where is the extra dollar there won't be many dollars laying around. As for Oswalt being back good for him and good luck with it, but this will be very difficult to pull off..

And as for the exposure the team is stating each sponsor will have from being involved with a indoor team, that already has failed to get anyone excited about its coming to town, this isn't the early 2000's and the need to watch players in their mid to late 20's without any opportunity to scale up to bigger professional levels will be a tough sell in central Texas, BU would have to slide completely off the map and that could happen with the turmoil around the program currently. Good luck

That is the rumor, and it seems to fit because Sanders didn't have any other reason to show up. Plus other team brass were simply stated as being media and general manager types, which usually isn't the case unless some type of corporate ownership is in place.

And one final point the commissioner of the CIF, if his team is struggling why would any new team want him coming to town to promote the venture, if he can't get his own house on top so to speak he has nothing to offer outside advise. The San Angelo market is tough anyway but when the team doesn't win consistently it won't be helpful or add to why the community should support the product. But as I have stated before I wish anyone who has the gut's to try good luck.
