Mobile Seagulls 2001

I found this image while researching for the misterhabs site. I was just getting into the sport in 2001, but I thought the Seagulls wore green helmets.

Does anyone have any idea why the team is wearing black or what was the logo on these helmet? That's John Fourcade at QB BTW.

they stole the southern miss logo from same time period but seagull games were fun

Cool pic. It is possible that those are dark green uniforms that they are wearing. If you look at the mascot on the poster, he is wearing an "M" on his helmet.

This was Fourcades last years as a player. Even though he was also the HC and GM. Former Houston Oiler WR Kenny "00" Burough was their HC in 2000. He was also on the staff of the Mobile team that won the RFL Championship in 1999.

helmet logo was changed after USM complained. I was in the office when letter can in. Logo was changed to silver M" on the black helmets. Seagulls did not ripoff USM. My understanding they actually paid someone to design the logo. Not sure who this was but they are one that copied USM.
