The fall information came from a link on a Bleacher Report article on SL from this morning.

Maybe Brian Woods has stumbled upon a model that could work for him . . . the glorified tryout . . . If that's the case, don't call it a League!
A League implies that there will be multiple teams playing multiple games in multiple locations . . . which this is not!

As far as a descriptive name, agreed. As I stated in other posts this is more of a FB Academy, in style and approach.
It may have a place but it is easy to replicate. With an unstated revenue model that likely is 100% dependent on funding from the NFL/CFL.
But it may fill a niche - who knows.
Woods utilized big names to get attention to the SL, something that would have been more relevant to the FXFL. He also utilized a central location for cost, again this would have worked in the FXFL.
We shall see where the SL leads in next.

Guys STILL don't make the 90-man roster with this format. All six guys who went to CAR mini-camp left without a contract. Others like NE, NYJ, and BUF start mini-camp today.

And that is because they [Woods] is simply taking anyone who has the cash there is no format in his concept that suggest he's looking for pro ready or prospect talent that is what makes all the A level's in baseball work.
What continues to be dumb about football is that the thought is they and they alone knows what talent looks like
We all know that is a joke look at any team, and you can ask the question wonder how that guy got in, Blaine qb whats his name is a talent? only in the right system that list is long and supported by data.
So you all have some merit in your post Woods is simply cashing in on players who could easily get signed onto the 75 man training camp roster, where all the teams are looking for extra bodies they don't need Woods for that but it exposes the agents those guys probably have and are paying for a service they are not receiving.

Woods is blustering which is what all CEO's do, but this is all proof of concept. I don't see him cashing in on players - it's more like the players fees are just helping to offset the expenses, and weeding out the true wannabes. The SL, Which while peanuts compared to thE FXFL, is still a Relatively large expense. He got enough positive feed back and press coverage to do this again in July. While not getting into signed he got them to mini camps so he can check the box so to speak.
Since is this is just an illustration of what it can do, he's hoping for NFL sponsorship or a white knight. Trouble is it's easy to replicate.
Agreed suge that some of these points on here are like on the money othernot so and gray area in between, but with PFT and BSPN writing about it, the SL is discussion worthy.

How, exactly, would it have "worked" in the FXFL? With a season longer than a week and a half and the need to actually pay players, a central location would have drawn exactly nobody to see it. (As it was, few people paid to go see FXFL games anyway, which is one reason it drowned.)

Old enough to remember when bashing the ABA was fun.
It's not exactly central when in April you are on West Virginia and on July, you spend two weeks in San Francisco, or a soon to be named Bay Area suburb and its community college.

Woods is practically begging the NFL to buy into his concepts/ideas, I think, by showing that his players are getting invitations to NFL teams rookie camps/training camps . . . true proof of concept would be if/when the NFL and/or CFL invest funds or serious resources into scouting these players and or marketing the ideas . . . which as of now won't be happening anytime soon!
FB Academies might be his niche for now - I think if this is the route he's going to take, he needs to focus on players between their 1st and 4th year removed from college that are either not invited to camps or cut/released - this might be best way to get the NFL/CFL to notice and possibly partner up . . .
just my humble opinion
