The inaugural regular season for the WGBA begins in June 2008 and will conclude in August 2008. Teams are located in the southeastern and northeastern United States. Players interested in participating this year should contact the WGBA immediately. Tryouts for talent will begin in May 24, 2008 beginning in Atlanta, Georgia. Pre-registration begins immediately

States “Moose Lewis of the WGBA, “This is certainly a huge day for the WGBA and myself personally. To be able to provide a league for women to hone their skills and have the opportunity to advance to the WNBA and to be seen by thousands is just a “dream” come true-pardon the pun. Even if players do not ever make it to the “big leagues”, they can say they did play in the “big house”. The exposure for the WGBA is tremendous. Combine that with the fact that when our fans buy our season ticket package, they also get great tickets to see the Atlanta Dream, autograph sessions with select Atlanta Dream and WGBA players, and a limited edition tee shirt –all for one low price.

“In addition, all games will be available on the internet through Mizlou Sports and News Network for viewing around the world-and don’t forget, the WGBA will be using its own branded basketball by Baden and the red and white “moneyball” will be a staple as fans love the excitement it brings in the last two (2) minutes of each game.”

Prospective players and team owners wishing to be involved with the WGBA or GBA (men’s Global Basketball Alliance) are urged to contact us immediately.
