Boston conquerors join the new era basketball association

Post by dmbishop » Mon Oct 26, 2015 12:51 am

Houston, TX October 25th-The New Era Basketball Association has expanded to Beantown with the addition of the Boston Conquerors.

Conquerors Owner, Paris Cherry, a former star player with Coppin State and as a pro with the Manchester Millrats, is an amazing story of turning adversity into positive actions. After having both parents pass away as a youth in Dorchester, Massachusetts and seeing a basketball teammate killed on the streets, he still had the inner strength to complete high school and parlay his basketball skills into a College education. He now owns Hoops Masters, which teaches advanced basketball training techniques and skills.

Upon returning to Boston, he founded the non-profit Love Movement which is a mentor program for at-risk youths. A number of the children participate in the partner program Life Conquers, which teaches them financial and world skills. He is also active in the Boston political scene as an advocate for disadvantaged youths.

“Self-sufficiency is the way to solve these kids’ problems.” says Paris. “You have to change their financial conditions to allow them to move away from the dangerous lives they lead. I will be using the Boston Conquerors as more than just a basketball team. I want them to add substance to the community and be role models, not just as great basketball players, but as smart, savvy businessmen.”

The Conquerors will be opening their season in the upcoming NEBA Spring season in April 2016.

The mission of the NEBA League is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to the NBA, NBDL, and International Scouts, while providing the community an exciting brand of basketball. New Era, EA Sports, BOP TV, 20/20 Apparel, Hoop Culture, and Ball 4 Life have all been named official sponsors for the NEBA League. A Partnership with 20/20 apparel will make the NEBA League the only minor league basketball association that will have players with their own shoes. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
