It's time for the Florida Basketball Association to get its own forum. What else does this league have to do to get the recognition it deserves. Come on OSC make this happen for the 2016 season.
I second that! It is obvious that Mark, the Florida Flight, and the FBA have staying power and deserve their own spot on OSC.

Yeah...so we (the Florida Flight) are playing that Orlando Pro Am team led by Jason "White Chocolate" Williams that's been buzzing across the nation the last 2 years on Friday...at the Amway Center.

I thought I'd just leave this here:

But we don't deserve our own forum though. I'm still like...

I noticed on the FBA Facebook page that the FBA added the Daytona Beach Sharks (an ABA team). Is that for this season or next?

They are being evaluated for next season. Part of our new evaluation of new teams is to have one home and one away game against teams, thus why they played the Florida Flight. Honestly, we had hoped to make them a go with the Heartland Prowl dropping out last notice, but it was just too soon. They weren't ready and the time crunch was too much.

You'll also notice we have separated out our standings to include an overall and an FBA-only section. We are seeking to emulate how college works. You have your division standings, which count most (especially with regard to tournament placing), and you have games outside of the division. Teams with higher budgets travel more.

We want teams to play outside of the division. We've stretched out our schedule to begin earlier, spacing out actual FBA games to be 2-3 games/month instead of 4-5. These gaps afford teams the opportunity to schedule other games against teams outside of the FBA if they want to play more games. It also provides an opportunity for teams to play in cash tournaments, and gives a more feasible growth opportunity to teams that might not have big budgets but want a real shot at team ownership. Unfortunately, given the landscape of minor league basketball, we are just not getting as much interest from middle to upper class potential owners. We've got to rebuild and prove the value, consistency and viability of this business again (at least in Florida).

We don't have a problem collaborating with others. I think I've proven that over the years. However, the FBA brand is of most importance. At least in my eyes. I really believe the state model of basketball is the better option for this industry right now. Fair question about Daytona, though. We also looked at the Native Pride too in our scramble to replace Heartland.
