New York United Joins The NEBA

Post by dmbishop » Thu Oct 15, 2015 11:02 am

Houston, TX October 14th - The New Era Basketball Association is proud to announce the addition of the New York United to the league.

The United is based in New York City, but they also plan to play some of their games in other areas of the state in their quest to be a regional team that will unite New York State.

Robert Moore, the United’s Managing Partner is a former high school basketball star from New York. After learning hard lessons about the business-side of basketball as the part-owner of the Binghamton Pioneers, he returned to school to get a degree in Sports Management. A year ago, while getting ready to form the United, Robert was introduced to NEBA President Kevin Williams. The two immediately formed a close working relationship.

“The ideals of the NEBA are what got my attention.” said Robert. “They have taken the good, bad, and ugly from other organizations and fixed the bad stuff while dumping the things that just don’t work. This league is not just about making the League and Owners money, it is about giving players the opportunity to not only move up the basketball ladder, but to make them businessmen at the same time”.

The United will open their 2015-16 season on Saturday, December 5th in Orlando, Florida in a game against the CFL Marvel.

The mission of the NEBA League is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to the NBA, NBDL, and International Scouts, while providing the community an exciting brand of basketball. New Era, EA Sports, BOP TV, 20/20 Apparel, Hoop Culture, and Ball 4 Life have all been named official sponsors for the NEBA League. A Partnership with 20/20 apparel will make the NEBA League the only minor league basketball association that will have players with their own shoes. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
