NEW ERA BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES PLANS TO IMPLEMENT A PLAYERS UNION

Houston, TX October 8th-

President of Basketball New Era Basketball Association, Kevin Williams announces plans to implement a players union in the NEBA League.

The NEBA league will be the first minor league and the only league other than the NBA to have a Players Union. The Players Union will consist of forty of the leagues' players that will represent the twenty team league with the team Presidents and Vice Presidents voted on by the players.

Similar to the NBA, the NEBA League will have a collective bargaining agreement that will outline all the financial information for each team in the league. All money from sponsorship will be made pubic to players to ensure equal splits between team owners and players. The NEBA League will also be the first League in the U.S to implement a B.R.I (Basketball Related Income) System which includes revenue generated from ticket sales, broadcasting contracts, concessions, arena advertising, naming rights, and merchandise sales.

“In the NEBA we want the players voice to be heard, says President Williams. The Players Union does just that for our league helping our players become better businessmen, entrepreneurs, and basketball players which is the ultimate goal of the NEBA”.

The mission of the NEBA League is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to the NBA, NBDL, and International Scouts, while providing the community an exciting brand of basketball. New Era, EA Sports, BOP TV, 20/20 Apparel, Southwest Airlines, Hoop Culture, Spalding, and Ball 4 Life have all been named official sponsors for the League. A Partnership with 20/20 apparel will make the NEBA League the only minor league basketball association that will have players with their own shoes. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
