Posted a similar item in the FXFL subfolder - good to see espn picking it up.

do you think we need an 'SL' subfolder or rename the FXFL the 'FXFL - SL' folder??

Just a shot fir publicity on a slow sports and news day.

Manziel may have violated his probation over the New Year and it's obvious Woods isn't testing for any substances. If he's there, he'll either drink, collect debt from the Casino Club at The Greenbrier, or both.

Ray Rice turns 30 on Sunday and expect protesters at The Greenbrier if he accepts.

Vince Young is 33 and seems to have moved on with his life.

Brian Woods needs to do the same in regards to professional football. Move on.

Nobody wants to watch (in person or on TV): QB Hutson Mason, RB Zach Bauman, LB Will Smith, S Pierre Warren, DBs Justin Green and Ellis Lankster and LB Tyler Starr. Where's Josh Freeman or Jake Heaps?

 okay the SL is completely off the list. two of the three guys could buy the league out right Johnny has more cash than he can spend remember he's from oil money so football is simply a hobby for him to play, which we have seen he doesn't really want to any more.

Sure they have big ego's but the CFL would serve one better the other two has no chance of re-entering the NFL and should simply cash the retirement check every month, the SL model is flawed Woods learned nothing from his previous leap.

But this is just my subjective opinion, as would any that follow will be so 4th keep the faith. You know facts pertaining to the Titanic came out that the design called for more life boats, the company dismissed them as necessary and most of those that launched were not filled to capacity, because the crew didn't have the knowledge of how too release them.

Woods cannot "sell" this idea/league to any outlet, thus the need to tout bigger names with invitations. No TV interest, no digital intetest, little former NFL tenured players with near a household name interest.

He is not paying any player, its only for those players looking for an outlet to display their skills to the NFL/CFL/AFL and willing to do so without pay. Woods modeled this after two things 1) What the NFL has stated recently they may try - ie an Academy style 'league' 2) low cost.

With that he is getting press. (CBS picked up the story as well) The FXFL for all its issues did apparently give him some level of credibility.

At least he learned that name players, even wash ups can provide press. There is press interest. Using name players, that's an improvement over what he did in the FXFL.

Greenbrier owner, Jacobs is now the governor and he is not doing this for the good of the state. Jacobs owns The Greenbrier and that resort runs on cash.. Brian Woods has bills due and the $350/player plan is still lacking.

Bills and deposits are due. He desperately needs $$$.

Who doesn't?

The $350 a player isn't covering this so he must have investor backing of some sort. I do think the player signup deadline is till Feb 1

AP did the story. It sounds like he is just drumming up interest for his business.
